Kaan Alkan oversees AWI’s power plant and industrial developments and advises the Board on strategic projects. With more than 30 years of experience, he has led major power, oil & gas, petrochemical, and infrastructure projects across the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Before joining AWI, Kaan held senior executive roles at Renaissance Heavy Industries, including as Chairman of the Board, President, and Vice President. He provided strategic oversight of multi-billion-dollar energy and industrial projects across multiple regions. Earlier in his career, he spent two decades with GAMA, where he took on direct project management roles and successfully delivered large-scale EPC projects for clients such as SABIC, ARAMCO, UHDE, TOYO, and PARSONS. He also served as Deputy General Manager at Gap Construction (Çalık Holding).
A Civil Engineering graduate of Middle East Technical University, Kaan combines deep technical expertise with board-level leadership. He is recognized for delivering complex industrial and energy projects through strong project controls, strategic planning, and execution.
Ceyhun Filiz is responsible for managing the delivery of AWI power plant and industrial projects. He brings over 20 years of international experience in civil engineering, EPC contracting, and project management, with a track record of delivering large-scale power, oil & gas, and public infrastructure projects.
Before joining AWI, he held senior roles at Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri, Enka, and Yapi Merkezi, leading multi-billion-dollar projects in Russia, Central Asia, and North Africa. He is also the founder of CEFKA Insaat Enerji, providing engineering and construction services in energy and industrial sectors.
Ceyhun holds a Civil Engineering degree from Kocaeli University and combines technical expertise with proven leadership in complex international projects.
Alp Kavcin leads the implementation of AWI’s 250 MW Power Plant project in Samawah, Iraq. He has 20 years’ experience in power plant engineering, commissioning, operation, and maintenance, with specialization in gas turbine technologies.
Before joining AWI, Alp held senior roles at Çalık Enerji, Rönesans, Enka, and Mass Group Holding, managing the execution and start-up of major power generation projects across Iraq, Libya, Turkmenistan, and Turkey. His experience spans combined cycle and simple cycle power plants, large-scale commissioning programs, and performance optimization of gas turbines, including GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Alstom units.
A graduate of Dokuz Eylul University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Alp combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership in complex energy projects. He is recognized for his ability to deliver high-capacity power plants from construction through to reliable operation.
